Juana Leno (1917-2000) is known as one of the four Matriarchs of Acoma Pueblo Pottery. She together with Marie Z. Chino, Jessie Garcia and Lucy M. Lewis essentially revived the traditional world of Acoma pottery simply by doing it the traditional way: using stone age implements and methods to produce fine art in-and-on a ceramic vessel. They also revived many of the ancient Mimbres designs that were found on pot sherds littering the ground around them at Acoma (Source: eyeofthepot.com).
